Stenocereus wittii ( Amazon Moonflower Cactus )

Stenocereus wittii, often called the Amazon Moonflower Cactus, is one of the few truly aquatic or semi-aquatic cacti in the world. Native to the seasonally flooded forests of the Amazon River basin, this rare cactus grows on floating logs or submerged debris and has adapted to an extremely unique environment.

Its elongated, flat stems help it float, and it produces large, fragrant, white flowers that bloom only at night, earning it the nickname Moonflower Cactus. The flowers are short-lived but striking, attracting night pollinators in its native habitat.
