What are Lithops?
Lithops, also known as living stones, are succulent plants native to Southern Africa. They’ve adapted to thrive in arid conditions and require specific care, especially in humid or tropical regions like India
Humidity Requirements
- Ideal: Low humidity
- Caution in Coastal Areas: High humidity can cause rot. Ensure excellent drainage and airflow.
Sunlight & Air Circulation
- Well-draining, gritty mix is key
- My preferred mix: 85% Cinder, 10% Vermi Compost and 5% Leaf Mould
- Alternatives to Cinder: Pumice, Lava rock, 2–4 mm stone granules
- Pro Tip: Customize the mix based on your local climate
